Re: Problems with Mandala.
Sounds like possibly your USB cable was jammed into the drum so hard that it unhinged the port from the board and now there's a short circuit when it's connected.

Re: Virtual Brain not recognizing Mandala Drums
Quit the VB3 and unplug your pads. Then open the MIDI Devices window of Audio MIDI Setup and highlight and delete all Mandala icons. Now plug your Mandalas in and you should see their icons appear in the MIDI Devices window. After this is the case then it is okay to open the VB3. The pads always hav...

Re: MIDI MAPPING MANDALA DRUM W/ LOGIC
Check out pg.28-30 of the User Manual for a description of routing Mandala Virtual Brain audio into Logic: http://synesthesiacorp.com/Mandala_mk2.9_Manual If you want to trigger virtual instruments with the Mandala then pg.33 "Appendix B: MIDI Info" spells out what the Mandala's MIDI capab...

Re: Slight Delay
I've run tests with an oscilloscope measuring the time between a stick actuating the membrane switch on the surface of my Mandala and the triggered audio signal coming out of the audio port (both on Mac and PC). With the right settings you can get the time between those two events below 5ms and actu...

Re: Question for all the Battery 3 peeps
Pretty sure there is no limit to how long a sample will play in a Battery 3 cell. The thing that you'll need to watch out for is using up all your voices by triggering other cells and then your extended sample gets cut off before it's done playing. Look into Voice Groups and things like that in the ...

Re: Virtual Brain on a NetBook...?
I didn't think a netbook would have the processing power to run the Virtual Brain. What netbook do you have? Is it working?

Re: Mandala and Battery 3 question
Check out Appendix B of the Mandala User Manual: http://synesthesiacorp.com/Mandala_mk2.9_Manual That's where the Mandala MIDI output is detailed. It's 6 notes and a controller (as if you were controlling Battery 3 with a USB MIDI keyboard that has 6 keys and a mod wheel). Besides knowing that, it's...

Re: multiple notes triggered
Mandalas were originally designed around stick playing and since there are separate trigger zones about every millimeter from the center to the edge your fingertip is probably rolling over multiple zones because it is pressed down on the surface for too long when you hit it. Try tapping it really qu...
