Hi Mandala Drum,
I just recently received my Synapse and was setting it up and am having an issue with my laptop not recognizing the unit correctly. I'm on a MacBook Pro (10.5.8) and in the AUDIO/MIDI window the Synapse only shows up as a generic MIDI device. When I open the software, it gives me a message that it can't connect to the device and to shutdown and try connecting again. I've followed the setup steps in the manual and still only see the device coming through as a generic MIDI device.
Any suggestions to resolve this issue?

You can disconnect the Synapse USB from your Mac then highlight the 'MIDI Device' icon in Audio MIDI Setup and then press delete to get rid of it. Then plug your Synapse USB back in and the 'Synapse' icon will appear.
