Re: Velocity Mandala 3.0
You can adjust the velocity response of the V3 surface using the 'Surface Damping' parameter in the V3 Utility app. Setting Surface Damping to somewhere in the range of 45-75 would do it based on your preference. You can option-click (or alt-click) where it says Surface Zones in the Utility and ...

Re: Time to be...
The graphic pattern on the surface of the V3 is printed using a dye-sublimation process. That keeps the fabric layer as flexible as it would be without anything printed on it. It doesn't seem that any type of decal would work as a coating over the fabric but you could experiment with paint markers ...

Re: First Impressions
Thank you for sharing the Ableton Live tips above!
Regarding rim pressure, make sure to squeeze the rim vertically and not push it toward the center of the pad. The rim should be compressed straight down by your applied pressure. The rim material can be malleable enough to reach the outer edge of ...

Re: Importing presets
The V3 Utility app is only for adjusting V3 MIDI output configurations and monitoring pad response. Presets in the V3 Utility app are unique to V3 operation and do not relate to presets from any other MIDI or audio program. NKI and NBKT files are proprietary to Native Instruments (NI) and they ...

Re: Cofiguring zones
No, you can just set the Key Range of a single cell in Battery to be C2-D2 and the sound in that cell will then be triggered by zone 1 and zone 2 on the Mandala V3.
Then you can set the Key Range of a different cell in Battery to be E2-F2 and the sound in that cell will be triggered by zone 3 and ...

Re: Cat 5 or USB?
Danny's pads have a different output cartridge under them which accepts CAT5 cables that run back to a central circuit which also accepts pedal inputs for his eKick and eHat pedals. Then that circuit goes to his MacBook over USB. The USB output on Mandala v2, mk2.9, and V3 is equally as fast for ...

Re: Battery 4 and V3 functionality
And keep in mind that Slide, Position, and Pressure (surface and rims) on the Mandala V3 are MIDI continuous controllers exactly like a mod wheel or a knob or fader is on a MIDI keyboard controller. They are all MIDI controllers that output a range of 0-127. You can assign any of them to parameters ...

Re: Amplifier
You would connect the audio output from your PC to an amplifier. The 5-pin MIDI port on the V3 is for connecting to a piece of hardware (synthesizer, sampler, etc.) when you want to trigger something instead of a computer/device.
