Re: What am I missing?

It's all about Battery 3 with the Mandalas for me. You can set up the program to handle as many Mandalas as you want, one for each MIDI channel (up to 16), and build a kit into one preset because of the cell matrix size potential. I use a 5x6 matrix with each column representing a Mandala (I have 5 ...

Re: I WANNA PLAY TOOL

Sounds like you are using the old version of the Virtual Brain. The new version(v3) is way better when it comes to adding user sounds to the library. Now it's just drag and drop any audio file from anywhere on your hard drive!

Re: Working Recording Setup?

Use ReWire to get your audio into Ableton from the Virtual Brain. Here's how I do it: - Close the VB3. - Open LIVE - Open the VB3 - In the VB3 go to File>Audio/Pad Diver Window Choose 'ad_rewire' as Driver, and turn audio to 'On' Set Output Channel 1 & 2 to 'ReWire Out 1 & 2' - In LIVE set t...

Re: Using Mandala to control Ableton Live

The Mandala is a standard USB MIDI controller just like a MIDI keyboard. It outputs a note for each zone and a velocity and also a continuous controller value from 0 at the center all the way to 127 at the edge. I'm triggering instruments in LIVE just like I would with a keyboard but I am hitting th...

Re: 2.0 and mk 2.9 connection tips

That means you haven't successfully run the converter app on your old pad. Make sure after you choose your pad in the converter pulldown menu and press the configure button that your pad puts out: center=note 60 mid-in=note 61 mid-out=note 62 edge=note 63 Just look at the pad meter at the bottom of ...

Re: 2.0 and mk 2.9 connection tips

Sounds like the Converter patch isn't successfully converting your old pad, probably because you are on XP and you can't even choose your old pad in the Converter. XP shows your old pad as 'USB Audio Device', so try using this version of the v2 Converter Utility instead, and choose 'USB Audio Device...

Re: Connecting to a P.A.

You could go straight from the 1/8" audio out jack of your MacBook to a mixer if you want. That would work, but it would be better to use an external USB or firewire interface.

Re: Importing Samples / Connections

Your questions 1 & 2 sound like there is something going on that might be conflicting with your Mandala. What else do you have plugged into your computer? Or maybe it's some utility that you have running or something else behind the scenes like that which knocks out the connection to the Pad. Qu...
