Notating Mandala performances?

The new Amy Knoles video got me thinking...

If you're trying to capture and convey a Mandala performance to another person, how do you do it? I suppose you could use a different note for each zone of the Mandala drum, but what about the CC change from center to rim? How do you compose (in the traditional sense) using this new instrument? I'm reminded of this thread from the createdigitalmusic blog:

Anyway, I didn't have any answers specifically, but I was curious if any of you had thought about this at all.

I'd think maybe capture all the MIDI (notes with velocity and the controller data) coming from the Mandala in a sequencer like Logic and then start looking at things like the MIDI matrix and event list. All the data is there and perhaps a hybrid of some of those windows would be best.

But how would you represent the values on a piece of music? I'm not sure how the performer would use "55", "127", etc. Is there a graphical representation that could show the center to rim position changes? Maybe something from the classical/solo percussion world?
