Time to be...

Post by DougJam »

Here I go...
Is it possible to add a pattern on the mandala drum? I decal of sorts printed on a rubber layover that just sits within the rim and hopefully sticks with static or kind of locks in...you know what I'm getting at. Short of getting a custom made playing surface I don't know what else I'd do besides that.

The graphic pattern on the surface of the V3 is printed using a dye-sublimation process. That keeps the fabric layer as flexible as it would be without anything printed on it. It doesn't seem that any type of decal would work as a coating over the fabric but you could experiment with paint markers directly on the existing surface. The neoprene with fabric which makes up the V3 surface can be emulated by certain types of mousepads, so you could first experiment on something like that to test colors and longevity before committing to customizing an actual V3 surface.
