Volume pedal with synapse

Hi

I'm looking to use a "visual volume" guitar pedal with synapse as an expression pedal.
Is this possible? Or can only keyboard expression pedals be used for this?
I'm running a TRS cable from the "out" jack of the pedal into the "exp" in of the synapse
And nothing is showing up in the settings.

Has anyone done anything like this?

Cheers!

Here's how you can find out if your pedal will work or not:

Plug the TRS cable from the Volume pedal Out to the EXP input on the Synapse like you are already doing, and then open up the Synapse setup software. Then go into Raw Mode in the Synapse software (button in bottom right corner) and rock your foot from heel to toe on the pedal. If the onscreen Raw value goes in a regular linear pattern as you rock your foot from heel to toe then the pedal will be good as an expression pedal. If the Raw value goes in a bell curve pattern (like up then down again) as you go heel to toe then then pedal won't give such a good response as an expression pedal.

You might want to try the above with your Visual Volume pedal in Active mode and then also in Passive mode.

If it works out then remember to exit Raw Mode and then calibrate the Synapse to your pedal using the calibrate buttons at the bottom of the EXP channel in the software.

If you want to use a volume pedal here, you need to connect both the in and out jacks to the synapse with the cable shown in this video:

Basically TRS on one end and two mono cables on the other. A control and volume pedal have the same guts generally but are wired differently, which the cable in the video compensates for.
