New features for Mandala 3.0?

Hi
I just learned that it will cost $400 to replace the display on my old Roland vStage. Been eager to try Mandala.
As a Mandala noob, I wonder what new features v3 will have over v2.9? Whether I should wait for v3 or just go w v2.9 now
Thanks
Justin

Major V3 features not included in previous versions of any Mandala are: a pressure and position sensitive surface, 9 individual polyphonic rim triggers/pressure controllers, interchangeable output cartridges for future port compatibility and add-on designs, full MIDI output configurability, and a relatively silent playing surface.

Have I mentioned how much I am looking forward to this release! I'm still using my 2.9s at every gig. Can't wait to get my hands on V3!
Then if we could just get DC to release a "Tool Pack" of Battery presets....... Just sayin. :P

DC’s Battery presets are all mapped for a seven Mandala setup. That’s a lot of pads, but there are ways of basically emulating that size Mandala kit on a smaller number of the newest V3’s. Updated pad feel and functionality has turned out even better than we expected, and a lot of hard work is going into making them available asap. Can’t wait for everybody to get their hands on them and start running!

Hey Hey!!

Just curious, how are you running your Mandala's for live gigging. I'd like to use mine live but, not sure the best way to set it up. Also, are you playing originals, or cover tunes? I'd be really interested in how you are using your pads, especially if you're playing cover tunes.

I'm super excited for the 3.0 Version's to be released, as well. Hopefully very soon!!

Take care,

K

I'm in a cover band at the moment and use my mandalas for samples and played parts, etc. I use Battery 4 for Mac setup in conjunction with the midi output from the Mandala pads. Easy to configure once you figure it out, and works great for my needs. Battery 4 has lots of baked in samples, and anything else I need sampled, I just import into Battery as a .wav sample. I think DC uses Battery software for his Mandalas also.

Been a long time since admin gave us a status update on the release of V 3.0. Admin, any news you can share?????

Thanks,

Jerrod

We're closer than ever right now. It's about having the right partners on all fronts so that once the ball drops the whole team and all the content and moving parts are working in conjunction and the V3 can sail smoothly for years. All the elements are just about fully coordinated. If you're on the mailing list (https://synesthesiacorp.com/V3KSLIST/contactform.php) you'll be notified when the new site launches. It's an exciting time, and the best part along the way has been playing the new pad, which makes the effort worth it. This one is more fun than ever.
