RUN MANDALA V3 THROUGH PRESONUS QUANTUM 2626

Post by mfnuggy »

I just preordered 3 Mandala V3's and I am stoked for this Summer! For recording my acoustic drums, I'm purchasing the Presonus Quantum 2626. To run these V3 pads, do I need to run it into the interface, then into my computer? Or, do I buy an adapter from 5-pin MIDI and plug directly into my computer bypassing the interface (at that point, likely using the interface as the output, NOT the input). Additionally, The Presonus Quantum 2626 only has 1 5-pin MIDI input and 1 output as well.

OR, do I need to buy a dedicated MIDI interface for the pads, separate from the audio interface I'll use for recording live drums? (probably the obvious answer, but I'm trying to save some $$$$)

Thank you!!

Mandala V3 includes a USB port which will provide a faster MIDI signal to your computer than a 5-pin MIDI cable, so the best approach would be to combine your V3 USB signals through a powered USB hub connected to your computer.
