I’m having trouble with the velocity sensitivity with both V3 and Mk2.9 mandala pads when using them with Battery 4. It seems there is hardly any sensitivity range - just really quiet or really loud. I’ve experimented with the velocity dial, volume envelopes, velocity curve and humanize features in battery with poor results. I’ve also tried to see if there’s any way to adjust this in the V3 utility - no Joy. The V3 utility app is reporting that the pad is getting to 127 velocity without even hitting it hard at all.

Any suggestions? Is there a way to get better control of the velocity curves in Battery or otherwise? I miss my virtual brain software already… thanks!

I believe I found a workable solution. A quick consult of the V3 manual uncovered the settings for surface and rim zone threshold and damping. However, I’d still like more fine control of my mk 2.9 pads, if anyone has any thoughts. Velocity control does seem to be more responsive on the MK2.9 in battery 4 than with the V3, though.

When you say you want more velocity control, are you wanting the sound to be quieter than what you're getting, or not loud enough?

I usually set my MIDI percussion devices to a minimum velocity of 64 in the DAW or in Battery4, that way I know I'll at least get a sound out of a soft hit. That's just what works for me and my playing style.
