Has anyone run the v3 direct to any drum module to trigger midi on that module---
Sure it can be done with PC hooked up via usb B but
is it possible without having a pc hooked up to do it???
Trying to avoid pc and go direct to sound module doesn't seem like an option ..
Please let me know otherwise

To use the Mandala V3 without connecting it to a computer you would supply power to it with a standard 5V USB power supply (like the one in the link below) using a standard USB cable from that supply to the USB port on the V3. Then you would connect a 5-pin MIDI cable from the V3 to whatever MIDI enabled device you would like to trigger. It’ll take 10-20 seconds for the V3 to power up when you are using it this way. You’ll see the red light on the bottom light up once it is ready.

Realy..
Thankyou for the reply..
Tried several similar 1 amp phone adapters and cables and none would power the mandala .
the same cable used in a laptop to power up the device.
But it wouldn't output midi data until hooked back up to a laptop and the utility was run.

So, there's nothing from the red light on the bottom of your V3 after about 20 seconds when you connect a USB cable to it from a 5V USB power supply? The light should stay off for about 20 seconds after you connect it and then blink red a couple times and then stay solid red.
What is the digital serial number of your V3? (It's the number in its enumerated name when you connect it to a computer, like 'Mandala_V3_1753', etc.)

Sorry, my mistake, wasn't waiting the 20 seconds

.. after which I noticed the two blinks and solid red mentioned

Previous note assignments saved too

. So yes we have a perfectly good v3 to sound module use case . No necessary pc requirement.
Thankyou.
