Re: A stupid question for someone to answer, not named Luke!

I don't know what you know and what you don't know....so forgive me if I mention something you've already mastered. Also...my last name is Luke, so now matter how hard you tried, you're still getting help from a Luke.

Slide is unlike the note triggers. Let's talk about battery. Battery is a sampler ...

Re: Carrying Case?

Hey there,

This isn't a hardcore road-rugged case, but it helps with the transport between my studio and bandmates' houses. It's just a soft shell beer cooler I found on amazon. The dimensions were tricky to find an instrument-intended case, so this is what I ended up with.

I cut up the styrofoam ...

Re: NEW MANDALA TOOLS FOR ABLETON LIVE: Note Tuner + Pressure & Slide Control

After downloading and unzipping, clicking on the file itself says "This device is not available in this version of Live". I have Live 12 Intro. Anyway around that?

Re: Mandala features walkthrough video

This is really cool, Stuart! I had wanted to achieve the same thing, and set up a slide on/off switch on Ableton, using a macro dial for volume of the effect.

But being able to delay it would be perfect! When you call this a Ableton Rack - is it a Max for ...

Re: Pitch ranges

There's a couple different ways. Have you tried this yet:

Perhaps the easiest in battery would be to have a single sample, let's say on C3. Then on the Modulation tab, select Modulation source (First drop down) as MIDI CC#, and select the CC number you have assigned to Position. Then on the second ...

Re: Best Possible Snare?

Ah, thank you! I totally forgot about Round Robin. What you said about applying midi velocity to samples that gradually increase in amplitude makes total sense.

I had some success turning down the "velocity to volume" knob to about 50%, in addition to setting up a round robin. Thank you!

Best Possible Snare?

Hey everyone! Has anyone had some awesome success with an accurate snare responsivity? Nice, even doubles, present ghost notes, subtle buzz rolls, not over-triggering the highest velocity? I am using Battery 4, and I just can't seem to iron out the kinks. With all the data points available, seems ...

Re: Velocity Mandala 3.0

I have a similar problem, but it's predictable and the solution can just be part of your workflow.

Anytime I switch between Mac and Windows, the pads will have the problem as explained above. Although the Utility will have my previous settings for sensitivity, the monitor won't read anything above ...

Re: Battery 4 velocity issues

When you say you want more velocity control, are you wanting the sound to be quieter than what you're getting, or not loud enough?

I usually set my MIDI percussion devices to a minimum velocity of 64 in the DAW or in Battery4, that way I know I'll at least get a sound out of a soft hit. That's ...

Cool DougJam, I was always curious about that! What kind of pedal are you using, and triggering what?
