Hi all,
I have two of the V3 pads and have never had an issue with my macbook (M1 Pro, Sequoia v15.7.1) registering them via a USB-C hub. I recently took about a 6 week hiatus from playing and, now that I'm back at the kit, I can not get the computer to recognize the pads. They show up neither in the utility app, the OS sound panel, nor the midi tab in Ableton. All my other devices seem to be working properly and nothing about my setup has changed.
I've tried using different ports on my hub, using a different USB-C hub, using different USB-C ports on the macbook. Nothing. The power light on each pad is lighting up, so I have no reason to believe two cables went bad simultaneously.
What am I missing here? The pads are effectively dead in the water.
Connectivity Issues over USB C
Re: Connectivity Issues over USB C
The power light being on under a pad means it has gone through a successful USB identification. To troubleshoot in your case, with no pads connected open the MIDI Studio window of Audio MIDI Setup and delete any greyed out icons of 'Mandala_V3'. Then connect one pad at a time directly to a USB port (not through a hub) on your computer and look for its icon to appear in that window. Remember sometimes device icons can appear outside the visible area of that window so make sure its big enough or that you scroll around. The icon should appear right away and the red light under the unit should light up within about 2 seconds.
